Dr. Ajay Pal Singh Dhanla Honored with Veer Durgadas Rathore Award for Contribution to Yoga and Ayurveda
Jodhpur, September 10, 2026: On the occasion of the 388th birth anniversary of Veer Durgadas Rathore, Dr. Ajay Pal Singh Dhanla, who has been working in the fields of yoga, Ayurveda, and research, was presented with the Veer Durgadas Rathore Award 2026 at a ceremony held at the Veer Durgadas Memorial Park, Masuriya Hill, Jodhpur.
The event was jointly organized by the Veer Durgadas Rathore Memorial Committee and the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Jodhpur. Several individuals who have made significant contributions in different fields were honored during the ceremony.
The chief guest at the event was Major General K. D. Jaspal, Chief of Staff (COS), Headquarters 12 Corps. The ceremony was presided over by H.H. Shri Gaj Singh Sahib of Marwar-Jodhpur. Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner K. L. Swami and Shyam Kumbhat, Chairman of Mehav Group, Singapore, were present as distinguished guests.
Dr. Ajay Pal Singh Dhanla was honored for his contribution to yoga and Ayurveda education, research, and awareness initiatives. He is associated with Aksharbrahm Holistic Yoga and Ayurveda Research Institute, through which he is involved in education, training, and research activities related to yoga and Ayurveda.
The institute also conducts guidance programs for students and young people on yoga education and career opportunities in the field. In addition, free yoga seminars, workshops, and awareness programs are organized from time to time.
Dr. Dhanla is also actively involved in promoting yoga education through his writing. He has authored four books on yoga. His work focuses on bringing traditional yogic knowledge, along with subjects related to education and research, to students and the general public.
Earlier, Dr. Dhanla had also been honored by the District Collector for his work related to yoga and Ayurveda. He has also received the National Maru Ratna Award.
According to Dr. Ajay Pal Singh Dhanla, yoga should not be viewed merely as a physical practice but as a broader field connected with education, health, discipline, and career opportunities. With this objective, he has been involved in programs aimed at providing students with information about academic courses and career prospects related to yoga.
Following the presentation of the Veer Durgadas Rathore Award 2026, Dr. Dhanla expressed his gratitude to the organizations, guests, and associates involved in the event. He said that the recognition would serve as an inspiration to further his work in yoga education and research.
He further stated that in the coming years, he will continue working to provide relevant information to students and the general public through yoga education, Ayurveda, research, career guidance, and awareness programs.
